In 2018, Ford is bringing you an Escape with a new trim level, more upgrades for other models, and a standard rearview camera on every single trim. Two existing trims get an upgrade in 2018, including the SE and Titanium. SE adds front heated cloth seats, perimeter alarm, and roof ride rails. Standard safety features in the 2018 Escape are abundant, with AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control, driver’s knee airbags, Child-safety rear door locks, Safety Canopy System with side curtain airbags, head restraints and three-point safety belts on all five seats, Personal Safety System for driver and front passenger with dual-stage airbags, rearview camera, SOS Post-Crash Alert System, tire pressure monitoring system, and Lower Anchors and Tether Anchors for Children. There are a few different engines being offered with the 2018 Escape, the first being the standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. This engine creates 168 hp and 170 lb-ft and is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission in FWD. The next engine is available with the SE and is a turbocharged 1.5-liter. This engine produces 179 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque. A tow package is also an option with the SE, giving it a towing capacity of up to 2,000 lbs. The last engine is standard with the Titanium, and is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, creating 245 hp and 275 lb-ft. This engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and can tow up to 3,500 lbs.
What are the trims that are available with the Escape?
The 2018 Escape, while adding a new trim, has three other models. The first is S, which comes in as the base trim, and offers 17-inch steel wheels, automatic headlights, air-conditioning, a 60/40-split folding and reclining rear seat, MyKey parental controls, cruise control, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, a rearview camera, a height-adjustable driver seat, Bluetooth, the Sync tech interface with AppLink smartphone integration, a six-speaker sound system with a USB port and CD player, and a 4.2-inch central display. The S is aimed towards business buyers. The newest trim, the SE, offers 17-inch alloy wheels, chrome exterior trim, roof rails, keyless entry keypad, sound-reducing window glass, rear air vents, fog lights, steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, upgraded cloth upholstery, a rear center armrest, satellite radio, and an eight-way power-adjustable driver seat. Extras for the SE include a Sync 3 tech package, AWD, and a Sport Appearance package. SEL is the next trim, and includes everything that is part of the SE, and adds a power liftgate, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, leather upholstery, power-adjustable side mirrors with heating, rear parking sensors, and the Sync 3 tech interface. The final trim is Titanium, which includes keyless ignition and entry, 18-inch wheels, ambient interior lighting, hands-free power liftgate, remote start, auto-dimming rearview mirror, xenon headlights, a few 12-volt power outlets, driver-seat memory settings, a 110-volt outlet, and 10-way power-adjustable front seats that are heated. Other standard features in the Titanium are a navigation system, front and rear parking sensors, automated parallel and perpendicular parking, and a 10-speaker Sony audio system with HD radio.
