What model options come with the Taurus?
In order to maximize the number of options given to you, the Taurus comes with four different model options! The first of these options is the Taurus SE. This model offers Bluetooth, 18-inch alloy wheels, two USB ports, six-way power adjustable front seats, a six-speaker sound system with a CD player, automatic headlights, a 4.2-inch central display, an exterior keyless-access keypad, Sync voice controls, 60/40-split folding rear seatbacks, a rearview camera, and a driver information display. An extremely luxurious model option is the Taurus Limited, offering blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, 19-inch alloy wheels, heated and ventilated 10-way power front seats, a premium Sony audio system with HD radio, leather upholstery, and auto-dimming driver-side mirror, heated second-row seats, ambient lighting, power-adjustable pedals, automatic high-beam, driver-seat memory settings, and automatic wipers. The sport Taurus option is the SHO. The SHO offers unique leather upholstery, a sport-tuned suspension, steering wheel-mounted shift paddles, exclusive 20-inch wheels, dual exhaust tips, unique interior trim, black exterior trim, xenon headlights, and a rear spoiler. You can add the SHO Performance package to give your Taurus an enhanced stability control system, summer performance tires, simulated suede trim, and stiffer suspension tuning.
What engines are offered with the Taurus?
Two engine options are offered with the 2018 Taurus. The first of these is the standard 3.5-liter V6, creating 288 horsepower and 254 pound-feet of torque. The second engine is the twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6, creating 350 pound-feet of torque and 365 horsepower. Front-wheel drive comes standard with both engines, however, you can choose all-wheel drive as an option for the SEL and Limited. These engines also work in tandem with a six-speed automatic transmission, and with the exception of the SE model, all of the models have a steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifter, allowing manual control of the automatic transmission.
