Enhanced capabilities, cutting-edge tech, and innovative features make the 2025 Ford Expedition the ultimate SUV for family adventures. We look at how Ford’s large eight-seater SUV is meeting the needs of Sumner families.

Basics About the 2025 Ford Expedition

Back for its fifth incarnation, the new Expedition builds on the capabilities that made its predecessors so popular with drivers everywhere. An external makeover sees the body gain a bold carbon black and ebony hexagonal grille, black running boards, black tailgate applique, and dark 18-inch wheels for a sleeker, more modern appearance.

Whatever your priorities, there’s an Expedition to match. Choose from one of four outstanding trim levels: the Active, King Ranch, Platinum, and the TREMOR. Ford also expands the color palette for 2025 with Glacier Gray Metallic and Space Silver Metallic, giving you even more ways to customize your ride.

New Features

Power Upgrade

It’s the new Expeditions power upgrade that really helps it surpass the performance of previous models. At its core is a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 that kicks out 400 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque, allowing you to hitch a 7,000-pound trailer, boat, or camper. Equip this full-size SUV with a weight-distributing hitch, and the towing capacity increases to a mighty 9,000 pounds.

Flexible Cargo Area

The Expedition offers plenty of room for all eight passengers and still has room for a sizeable 22.9 cubic foot cargo area at the rear. Flexible seating allows you to configure the interior to your needs. With only a few family members aboard, collapse the third-row seatbacks to expand the area to almost 70 cubic feet. Or, if you’re heading to the furniture or DIY store, fold down the second row too, and open up the cargo space to a massive 108.5 cubic feet.

Ford Split Gate

Every Expedition comes with a Split Gate, which can transform your SUV’s rear into a hub for hosting picnics or tailgate parties. The top section of this innovative gate opens like a traditional liftgate, giving you easy access to the cargo area. However, fold down the gate’s lower quarter like a truck tailgate, and you can create an instant work surface, table, or stadium seating with a 500-pound capacity.

Expansive Instrument Panel

Thanks to Ford’s Digital Experience, you’ll never miss a warning message or navigation instruction again. Gone is the small instrument cluster hidden behind the steering wheel. Instead, Ford places a stunning free-standing 24-inch panoramic display atop the dashboard, which puts vehicle data and information directly in your line of sight.

From its immersive entertainment system to its powerful V6, the new Expedition is ready for adventure. To learn more, contact us or stop by Sunset Ford of Sumner in Sumner, WA today, and experience everything the Ford Expedition has to offer.
