If you need to pull more, you can upgrade the powertrain with a 7.3L V8 gas engine or choose between a 6.7L V8 and a High-Output 6.7L V8 turbo diesel engine. The gas engine delivers up to 19,500 lbs of towing capacity, depending on the drivetrain and axle ratio. Both turbo diesel engines can pull 20,000 lbs in all drivetrain and axle ratio configurations.

In the standard configuration, the SuperCab style boasts a 14,400-lb towing capacity or 14,000 lbs with the four-wheel drivetrain. With the bigger gas engine, you can tow up to 18,000 lbs.

The turbo diesel engines can tow up to 23,000 lbs in the rear-wheel drive configuration or 23,400 lbs with 4×4 drive and all-season tires. Different axle ratios can tow up to 24,000 lbs in the 4×4 configuration, regardless of the type of tire.

The Crew Cab style paired with a 6.75′ box has the same conventional towing capacity as the SuperCab configuration. You can tow up to 14,400 lbs with the standard engine and axle ratio and up to a maximum of 24,000 lbs with the High-Output turbo diesel engine and a 3.55 axle ratio.
